Tom Bentley
Current city, state, country: Ketchum, Idaho, USA
My profession: Retired; former banker.
This pandemic makes me feel like: Stressed, apprehensive, bored.
This pandemic makes me think: Life for everyone will fundamentally change as a result, long after the pandemic has passed.
This pandemic makes me hope/pray for: It behaves like seasonal flu, and is gone by June. We have a vaccine by the time flu season starts again in November. We also have treatments.
If I had three wishes during this pandemic: Deaths are fewer that for normal flu. Deaths are fewer that for normal flu. Deaths are fewer that for normal flu.
What I think of the federal government’s response: Quite good for what we have come to expect from government. Compare this to the way the Bay Area addresses the homeless crisis or the housing crisis.
Before this pandemic, my plans for the next 6 months were: Fishing, fishing, fishing. And a trip to Italy in June with family.
What I have in my fridge/freezer and pantry: Everything. Could easily last a month.
Ways I’m coping: Exercise a lot, inside and outside. No TV news until 5pm.
Predictions for when this will get better/end? In May.
General advice/thoughts/anxieties to share with others: Signs that this is getting better will abound by April 15.
