Current city, state, country: New York, New York

My profession: Community Organizer

This pandemic makes me feel like: Stalled in work and nervous for friends and family. I want to be able to do more.

This pandemic makes me think: That our society needs more fundamental changes in terms of health, wealth and quality of life.

This pandemic makes me hope/pray for: That people may re-evaluate where we are at as humans. That we are giving Mother Nature a little break from all our polluting.

If I had Three Wishes: We could start over on society and rebuild certain aspects from scratch. That there was less disparity between those with and those without. Teleportation.

What I think of the federal government’s response: God awful, especially on a New York City level. Once again poor and disenfranchised people are going to be hit the hardest too.

Before this pandemic, my plans for the next 6 months were: Reform property tax system, help fix public housing and make it safer, work my ass off.

What I have in my fridge/freezer and pantry: Pasta, garbanzo beans and rice.

Ways I’m coping: Staying connected with people, working on little things around the house.

Predictions for when this will get better/end: Three months from now.

General advice/thoughts/anxieties to share with others: Check in on folks, spread love, help when you can, and take this seriously it’s a big problem. Also don’t forget to think about how this harms the less fortunate and use any anger or emotions now to propel yourself to work to improve society down the line, we need it.
